Ceviche is such a festive dish, it’s even fun to say! I love seafood with citrus and sweet with spicy, it’s like ying and yang. This spicy citrus mango shrimp ceviche will get the party started, guaranteed.
Ceviche is popular in Latin America and I’m so excited it’s making its way into American restaurants. Why? Because it’s straight up delicious. It’s the type of food that you eat that’s filling and satisfying, but doesn’t make you have a food coma right after. Feel good, taste good type food. Pass the tortilla chips and bust out the tequila it’s time for some happy hour!
Look at all of the vibrant colors on this- no need for an actual vacation:
This spicy citrus mango shrimp ceviche has tons of fresh citrus- lime, orange, and lemon. Spice it up with some serrano chili peppers. Then, cool it down with the sweet mango and honey. Food is all about a harmonious balance after all!
Up close and personal with this spicy citrus mango shrimp ceviche. Look at that cilantro!
Hint: if the ceviche is too spicy, add more honey or granulated white sugar to balance it out. Or eat some more tortilla chips 😉
Hint hint: serving this in a margarita glass and serving it with an umbrella makes this dish that much more fun.
Make the rimmed margarita glass:
- Chill the margarita glass in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Rub a tiny bit of lemon juice on the rim of the glass.
- Pour out Tajin seasoning on a plate.
- Dip the glass into the plate and twirl around.
Pro tip: if you have extra margarita glasses you should definitely make some margaritas.
