I have a secret: these smoked salmon lox, cucumber, and dill crostinis with herbed cream cheese look super fancy but are actually extremely easy to make! Also, these are pretty healthy with lots of healthy fats and Omega-3’s. Here’s a little “aerial” view of these babies! (AKA dive right into these!)
I went to the Farmers Market and picked up a really unique loaf of bread that look like little leaflets. I lapped the bakery stand a few times, but this loaf was literally looking at me so I had to go back and get it! Look at these amazing loaves!
Herbs and lemon juice
Fresh herbs and citrus really liven up this crostini and work really well with the smoked salmon. Dill and lemon juice are salmon’s best friends, and you’ll taste the happiness of this trio with each bite! Throw in some chives as well for an onion-y kick to cut through the richness of the cream cheese as well, you won’t regret it. I always think of my mom’s garlic-y, butter-y, dill-y baby potato recipe whenever I use dill. It’s an herb commonly used in Eastern European cooking, and always gives me warm feelings of childhood memories cooking with my mom!
