It only takes 4 ingredients to make this refreshing Mango Lassi drink- 3 of which you probably already have in your fridge (sugar, milk, and yogurt). A mango lassi is a yogurt based drink popular in India. Spices such as cardamom or cumin are sometimes added. Sometimes the drink is sweetened with honey or rose water as well. Raise a glass and enjoy these sweet (but healthy!) treats!
Mango Lassis are one of my favorite drinks. Lassis is made with yogurt and can be made with a variety of fruits, but mango so far has been my favorite flavor. I love this recipe because it’s extremely fast, easy, delicious, and healthy too!
Here’s why it’s healthy:
This yummy ingredient packs a ton of protein to keep you full, has calcium for bone health, has lots of probiotics to keep your digestive health in check, and is filling and satisfying.
This fruit is a great source of vitamin C to keep you from getting sick in these cold months, a great source of fiber to keep you full, and rumor has it- is a major aphrodisiac. I call that the LITERAL definition of food porn, if you know what I mean 😉 Make sure to macerate the mangos- or let them sit in sugar to get the natural sweetness out of the mangos. This step will make a huge difference in the taste!
I served these in a mimosa glass and made a sugar rim around the glasses because I was feeling festive. You can serve it any glass you’d like!
In my cooking adventures, I like to experiment with 2 things: the cooking and the photography. I like experimenting with different dishes around the world and different cooking techniques. I also like experimenting with different photography angles, styling, and food placement. This photo I took with the mango lassi glasses lined up against my windowsill casts a really interesting shadow and I liked the different lines happening in this photo. Take a look! And, excuse the dirty window!
I took these photos on a pretty overcast day in San Francisco so I wanted to keep the grainy feel to these photos.
Peace, love, and mangos!
